2016 MUTANT COACHES

 Head Coach Lilly

Lilly

Lilly is so excited to be head coach this year. This is her second year coaching and third year working at the park. She has experience coaching the Pierce Middle School swim team and the Special Olympics swim team. She has been swimming for the mutants for as long as she can remember and is excited for another great season.  Besides the swim team, Lilly was involved in choir, student council, and other clubs in high school. She will be graduating from Grosse Pointe South and will attend Michigan State University next year.

 Coach Brigit

Brigit

Brigit returns to the Mutants for her second year as a coach and third year as a swimmer. Brigit is a graduating senior at Grosse Pointe South. She will attend the US Coast Guard Academy next year to study Mechanical Engineering. Brigit has been swimming for the past 10 years, and was captain of the Grosse Pointe South swim team last fall. Brigit has additional coaching experience through the Grosse Pointe Gators Swim Team and through the Special Olympics program at South. When she isn't swimming, Brigit enjoys running, reading, and kayaking.

Coach Claire

Claire

This is Coach Claire’s second year as a Mutant coach. Claire was a Mutant herself from the age of 6 to 16, and spent all summer at the park growing up. She is a 2015 graduate of Grosse Pointe South High School, and will be a sophomore at Central Michigan University in the fall, with a major in Communication Disorders and a minor in Psychology. Claire loves the beach at Torch Lake, a good book, doodling, her dog Sally, and spending the summer with the team at the park in the sunshine.

Coach Daniel
Daniel

This is Daniel’s 11th year swimming for the Mutants.  He has long aspired to be a coach, mainly from witnessing his awesome coaches at the Park. Daniel has “swam” for the Grosse Pointe South Men’s Swim team the past three years.  He is heavily involved in South’s Student Association and is an active member of the Michigan Association of Student Councils/ Michigan Association of Honor Societies. He is also the President of the Mock Trial Club at South and leads them to county trial victories.  Daniel is looking forward to coaching swimmers of all ages and is ready for the Park to “bring home” the hardware at home.

Coach Rozzie
Rozzie
Rozzie joins the Mutant coaching staff for the first time this summer.  Rozzie has been a Mutant swimmer since she was 6.  At age 8 she also joined the Gators. Next year Rozzie will be a co-captain for the Grosse Pointe South girls swim team.  She has coached for the Special Olympics for the last four years and really enjoys working with children.  While her favorite stroke is butterfly, she is quite deadly in the Medley.  In her free time, she enjoys coloring, hanging out with her 9 cats, and watching Netflix.

Coach Kathleen

Kathleen
Kathleen joins the Mutant coaching staff for the first time this summer.  Kathleen has been a Mutant since the age of 6.  At age 8, Kathleen joined the Gators and has been swimming ever since.  Kathleen will be a co-captain this fall on the Blue Devils.  Kathleen has been a coach for the Special Olympics for the past 4 years.  When Kathleen isn't in the pool, she enjoys, running, reading and spending time with family and friends, (which includes her 9 cats).  Although this is her last year swimming as a Mutant, Kathleen is very excited to become a coach.  Kathleen can't wait to share her love of swimming with all the Mutants.
